Sustainability with Scot & Soul 💙

When I launched Scot & Soul, the goal was simple...

Build a fully sustainable Scottish clothing brand. Every product, every time. That was the dream, and it still matters deeply to me.

But as Scot & Soul grew, I quickly realised something important.

Sustainable clothing often comes with a higher price tag, and life in general is getting more and more expensive. For many of us, it can already feel like the world is turning into a playground for the rich and doing the “right thing” isn’t always financially realistic.

I didn’t want Scot & Soul to become another brand that unintentionally excludes people.

Wanting to shop sustainably and being able to afford it aren’t always the same thing, and pretending otherwise didn’t sit right with me. I’m in that position myself more often than I’d like.

Why Scot & Soul offers a mix of sustainable and non-sustainable products

Sustainability is always my first choice when sourcing products. Organic cotton, recycled materials, ethical production, that’s the direction I’ll always lean in.

But to keep Scot & Soul accessible, I now offer a mix of sustainable and non-sustainable options. That way, more people can enjoy the designs, the messages, and the feeling behind the brand, without feeling priced out or left behind.

And here’s the important bit…

If you ever see a Scot & Soul design you love and it’s not currently available on a sustainable item, just get in touch. I’m more than happy to price up a sustainable alternative for you wherever possible.

Bought a non-sustainable item? Please don’t worry.

This brand isn’t about guilt, pressure, or chasing an impossible standard.

If you do choose a non-sustainable option, that’s okay. What matters more is what happens next.

When you’re finished with the item:

🩵 Donate it to a charity shop

🩵 Recycle it if it’s past its best

Keeping clothing in use for longer is one of the simplest, most effective ways we can all reduce waste.
